Restoration to Pompeian red paintwork in the
Damaged areas on the Pompeian red walls of the Library Dining Room at the Sir John Soane's Museum were to be repaired. The Pompeian red had been applied over a white ground and the colour was recreated through applying the paint in a number of layers. Areas of delaminating paint on the ceiling were consolidated in order to retain as much of the original paint as possible.
